The Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage, also known as MACCH, is a research centre that brings takes an interdisciplinary approach to arts and heritage. The field of arts and heritage today is complex and it faces increasingly more difficult challenges, MACCH aims to tackle these challenges taking a diverse approach. MACCH brings together researchers, professionals, and students from diverse backgrounds with economic, legal, (art) historical, philosophical, sociological and practical expertise.
The Maastricht Centre for Arts and Culture, Conservation and Heritage is a joint initiative between several of Maastricht University’s faculties including the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the School of Business and Economics, the Faculty of Science and Engineering (formerly Faculty of Humanities and Sciences) as well as other institutions such as the Sociaal Historisch Centrum voor Limburg (SHCL) and the Stichting Restauratie Atelier Limburg (SRAL).
