Since 1988, the city of Maastricht has been home to the prestigious art fair TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair). Members of the Maastricht University faculty frequently participate in conferences, panels and research. For several years, masters students have also participated by working as vetting assistants.

TEFAF Maastricht 2020
Every year, TEFAF brings together experts to explore a specific theme or challenge in the art world. This year, TEFAF hosted their High Expert Dialogue on the topic “The Responsible Art Dealer – Anti-Money-Laundering Directive and Practical Guidelines for Art Dealers”.

TEFAF have asked Maastricht University to prepare their Annual Art Market Report 2017, an essential part of the report is understanding the current situation of art dealers in the industry.
