Made2Measure started out as a Maastricht University research project commissioned by the municipality of Maastricht. The aim was to study the city’s creative industries and to learn more about the impact of the policies put in place by the government. Since then, Made2Measure has developed to showcase the projects and research related to the creative industries being done by the city of Maastricht as well as by staff and students of Maastricht University.
‘Made in Maastricht’ Programme
In March 2013, the municipality started the programme ‘Made in Maastricht’. Part of this programme is to support and stimulate Maastricht’s creative industries. The creative industry policy has been divided into four programmes; manufacturing, performing arts, film and media and fashion. Made2Measure is part of the Fashion Maastricht programme. Its goal is to investigate the impact of these stimulation policies on financial and economical aspects within the city. To this extent, we execute various exciting research projects concerning employment, business climate, students and spending patterns of Maastricht’s inhabitants and visitors. A key part of Made2Measure was mapping the development and current state of the cultural and creative industries in Maastricht. The report was released in March 2018, click here for more information.
A new report will be released at the beginning of 2023, which will examine the evolution of creative industries with a specific focus on circular initiatives.
